You probably know about this, but if not- please check out- Knowledge is Power Program- 18,000 kids being served in innovative public schools- great program, Gates supporting it. The BIG difference is that teachers are viewed as "Star Athletes".. and what makes GREAT teachers, as that seems to be the biggest determinant of class success. Their methodology is open source. It's a total rework of the dominant education view.
