You are welcome to contact me anytime.
You might be interested in knowing there are "database abstraction layers" available.
98% of websites are really just relational databases with HTML front ends. Server side languages like PHP or ASP often do little more than requesting the database records into arrays, and displaying them as pretty HTML snippets. MySQL is a very good solution for the vast majority of web apps.
Kind regards,

Comment by Gustav Hobel on December 28, 2010 at 2:11pm Hi Joshua
I read your post with interest. In my profession as a FileMaker Pro consultant and developer I come occasionally across the requirement to provide web access. FMP is not strong in online access, but it provides a connector to certain flavors of SQL systems. Via this connector I could provide the best of both worlds.
It would be great if I could contact you if an occasion arises.
I might also be interested in learning more about PHP/SQL integration.
And my projects are normally small ;)
Thanks for your time.
