AOL's hyperlocal news project "Patch" Coming to Sonoma Valley

By the end of November, the Sonoma Index Tribune and Sonoma Sun will have more competition. AOL is soon bringing its hyperlocal news site project Patch to four Sonoma County communities, including Sonoma Valley. Sonoma Patch is scheduled to launch November 23. Petaluma, Healdsburg and Rohnert Park will also be getting Patch sites.

Sun on Thursdays - A Good Move

Now that the Sonoma Valley Sun has returned to its roots of publishing a weekly paper on Thursdays, I thought it appropriate to follow up on posts I wrote several months ago about the competition between Sonoma Valley's newspapers.

Twitter aides Sonomans in sharing our disgust

I found out Tuesday afternoon about the burglary at the Maloney family's home from a Boden Plumbing tweet. For the next few hours I was intrigued by the Twitter stream on the Search Sonoma column of my TweetDeck. Many of us were tweeting or retweeting the appalling news and expressing our disgust.
