Hello Paula,
Lori Winter here, with some news on the fruits of our coffee hour together last April with my buddy Shelly. Taking your thoughts and encouragement along with her, she has just developed and launched her own online publication, Food News Journal. She did a gorgeous job, and I thought you'd like to see it. She saw a need for a place that gathered and offered up various writings in the food world. You can see it here: http://www.foodnewsjournal.com/ Wishing you the best of everything, Lori

Dear Paula,
I was not able to find where I could send you the card I have, so will post a BIG, BIG THANK YOU here for Tuesday afternoon with you and Nancy. Shel and I enjoyed it so much, and appreciate your generous spirit and all you shared. You gave her plenty of inspiration and much to think about. Thank you, thank you, and same to Nancy for her time and input as well. -Lori

Okay Paula, we are both good for 3:30. Thanks so much and see you at Sunflower cafe patio Tuesday. Here is my photo, and Shelly has lovely red hair, so we'll look for you there. I you need a ride home at end of eve, I can easily drive you. Both Shel and I look very forward to it!

Hi Paula-
Are you still good on 3rd Tuesday April? It's here in just a few days already--how did April move so fast? Can I bring you down the hill and/or take you back that eve when you are done with farmer's market? We could do a cafe before the market, or just sit on a blanket after shopping the stalls....

Hi Paula,
I talked to Shelly this weekend and the date you suggest is good for both of us.
Thank you so much. Timing...4:30 or so? Location...Sunflower Caffe, or do you have another preference?
Can I give you a ride anywhere this week? I work here in town, and am out and about so if you need to get anywhere, just give me a ring and I'd be happy to pick up. My cell: 318-7712.

Hi Paula, sounds great. I will just touch base with Shelly to be sure she can come up from Marin that day. So looking forward to Farmer's Market again, with Spring fever in full swing. Thank you so much, Paula.

You sweetheart, would you really? A ride, no problem--more than happy to be Paula Wolfert's chariot. The farmer's market idea is good too, perhaps when that starts up in April. Do you have a preference?

Hello Paula,
Thank you for your gracious response. Three mentees is plenty to handle I'm sure, with everything else. That is great you are helping several others find their way. Rather than a continual thing, my initial thought was a one-time coffee with you for a thrill and inspiration. But I totally understand, Paula. You must get requests like that all the time. If you would ever feel up for an hour with Shelly and I for something like that, please get in touch. And if not, no worries Paula. Thanks for getting back to me. -Lori

Hello Paula-I was in the crowd at EDK last week and we've not met, but I was so pleased to see you there. I'm a designer who has a dear also-designer friend who is ready for something different after may years in book design for Harper Collins and Tarcher. Guess what, she's dreaming of food writing, or some food-related travel/business. (She lived in Aix en Provence for a bit and recently moved back to Marin).

She is career soul searching now and toying with her dreams. Would it be possible to introduce you two over a coffee on the plaza one day? It would be such an honor for us.

I would be happy to help you with any design advice you might wish in return.

Take care,
Lori Winter

Hi Paula - with all the folks you meet you probably forgot that you and I were at a couple of Dean fund raisers a few years back, I was your helper several times at Ramekins and we want to that silly Slow Food meeting where I was your chauffeur. I don;t think you ever knew my last name so I certainly don't blame you for not remembering! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
