Where's Christine? A Personal Update

Hi everyone,So, where's Christine gone, some of you have asked (and... thank you! it's good to be missed), so I thought I would send a personal update. When I founded WiredSonoma with Chip almost 3 years ago, we had a vision for what it might become, and much of that has happened- many good connections have been made,  businesses have been started, and a lot of excellent information has been shared- plus all kinds of events from lectures and debates and classes to book signings have been held.…See More

The New World of Publishing: A Primer for Authors

Michael and Steve Meloan

Session originally presented at WiredSonoma in September, 2010

The Publishing Shake-Up is What The Recording Industry Experienced 10 Years Ago

As we’ve all read, the publishing industry is undergoing profound changes. The ever-shrinking San Francisco Chronicle is a testament to that fact. The publishing shakeup is similar to what took place in the recording…

Hi WiredSonoma peeps. If you want to be a more authentic and compelling presenter or speaker, we have just completed the development of an all new workshop for a Fortune 50 company, and are looking for "testers" to help us refine the live exercises. We will offer the free testers workshop once in early Nov in LA, and in Dec near Santa Rosa. Consider yourself a guinea pig, or the recipient of free, focused one on one training.

The New ClickMarkets: Brand, Site and Offerings.

Posted on September 28, 2010 at 2:30pm 1 Comment

Ta-Da, the new ClickMarkets is born!

Since February, 2010, when Chip and I spun off our social media software into a stand alone business (Socialogue), we have also divided up our roles. Chip's been running the application development at the new company, and I have been running the ClickMarkets services business. We had been marketing our work as primarily social media services, but we found…

Hi Christine, I work primarily with business people who are already successful and ready to take it up a notch (or several notches).  I'm especially interested in clients who are ready to expand their leadership into local and global sustainability, to improve and change their community and the world.

One client who is a senior executive for a major Silicon Valley tech company went from being 6th of 6 on the short list of CEO successors to 1st.  Another has just been named CMO for an company in the West with strong environmental values and practices.

Christine,

We just released a "sneak peak" of the event we are having for the wine & hospitality industry on May 28th, I'd love to have anyone in the group on this site join us! We're also looking for volunteers, which can be a lot of fun.

The event info is in the center column at WineAndHospitalityNetwork.com. We are having another on July 27th at Nicholson Ranch Winery.

Christine, Thanks for you nice words about Vode. Vode markets to lighting designers and architects. We usually sell through electrical distributors. Local business always gets friendy pricing...Vode is a relatively new company launched in August of 2006. We design and manufacture architectural luminaires for T5 and LED. We value architectural minimalism, modularity, sustainable design and, most of all, quality of light. Our company was founded by 3 guys with a broad range of experience in Lighting, Business and Industrial Design. Real Tom photo is now posted...

Hello Christine. I am back in town from the snowy Bulgaria and sunny London. I would be very happy to participate in Wine Online discussion. You can glance at Bulgaria's wine show at my blog - http://bulgarianwine.blogspot.com/.
See you at EDK. Thanks for the invite.

Thanks for your kind remarks, Christine. Petra invited me to join the network. We share a client who is also a member: Tom Warton of Vode Lighting. There are zero degrees of separation in this town.

Would love to participate in your Wine Online thing. I have a few opinions on the matter, one of which I posted here just yesterday: http://lennthompson.typepad.com/lenndevours/2009/03/first-social-media-basics-workshop-held-in-finger-lakes-wine-country.html

Hi Christine, see http://www.mobihand.com/homeSoftware.asp. Our best-seller list uses an algorithm emphasizing the past 30 days' sales, so this is a good way to see what's hot. Unfortunately Apple won't let anyone but Apple sell native apps for iPhone, so those are not represented here.

Hi Christine!
Super excited to see/hear about plans for Wine & Hospitality content sites as an upcoming session. I’d LOVE to be involved in the topic—being on the panel at least.
Over ¾ of my clients are wineries – across the country – and the others are in the food/leisure space. While we’re focused on the entire Consumer Direct channel—inclusive of all online marketing, social marketing, retailing and co-operative marketing – it’s reasonable to say that site creation & re-architecture is at the core of most of our client programs.
Here’s a couple of sites recently done (altogether or in partnership) by WMG –

I look forward to hearing how I can be involved.
Best.
