Wired Sonoma

Advancing the understanding and utilization of technology in Sonoma Valley.

The success of the WiredSonoma Shared Workspace project will depend on how well we come together as a community to make it a reality and to facilitate its operation.  Therefore, we're creating this thread as a place to post a need for the space.  Needs might include the donation of a physical item or someone's talents or time.

Our first need was met by Garry Baker who volunteered many hours to address our space-planning and permit process needs.  Thank you, Garry.

Below is a list of services we need and hoping to find either through donation or at a reduced rate:

Special Skills:
  1. An electrician
  2. Carpet installation
  3. Color consultant (otherwise, we'll pick the best paint colors we can).
  4. A/V installation in conference rooms.
  5. Cubical installation
  6. Someone to source and install a reservation system (see Chip).

General Help including people willing to help with:
  1. Demolition
  2. Painting preparation
  3. Painters
  4. Post construction cleanup

Supplies:
  1. Paint brushes, rollers, etc. (loan)
  2. Ladders (loan)
  3. Cleaning supplies
  4. General break-room supplies (coffee, tea, cups, etc)

Stay tuned as we post more items or tasks to our wish list.

Chip, I have a Wagner Sprayer I'd be happy to loan.

It's an un-opened older model that I picked up from Friedmans for nearly nothing. I've used the roller systems for many years and Wagner makes a great product. The sprayer "should" cover a lot of space quickly ... in the right hands.
Will there be a schedule of activity so I can see when construction and projects are happening? I have some availability, tools, skills and would like to help out. I need a calendar so I can pick and plan my own involvement

Also, a few years ago I found a theater seating reservation system that allows one to advertise events and sell seat tickets. Out of the box it is configured to work with Pay Pal, I have a working demo. It is php based and open source. If you have any good php developers in the network, it is possible you could modify this for your facilities reservation system. The cost would just be the time for coding. Web hosting costs would be minimal. If you want to sit down sometime and take a look, I'll show you how it works (15 minutes should do it)

Greg
Hi Chip
I donate time in the General Help section. Have some tools and a pickup truck. Also willing to help with Cubicle Installation.
A calendar would be great, I agree with Greg. Some days in the time until May, 1st are taken.
I have 12ft adjustable paint roller extension handle to loan.
Circular saw that can be on loan for a month or ?

color consult if needed

!!!!consider some large wall space for "whiteboard-dry erase" paint for brainstorm/mapping

A luxo lamp to contribute

A relevant, amusing art work / assemblage on loan ----see TrailerParkZoo.com for type of things I do.
Thanks to everyone who has responded to help and with suggestions. We'll keep you posted on how things are going and we are definitely taking note of your offers. Thanks again!
