Wired Sonoma

Advancing the understanding and utilization of technology in Sonoma Valley.

I have about 25 two minute videos, frame size runs 640x480, datarate about 5000kbits that we want to have encrypted so we can send out our product on memory sticks.

I'm looking for someone in Sonoma, or close enough who knows how to encrypt videos.

The quick and easy way of doing this it to simply use Winzip and compress them in a password protected and encrypted zip file. The user would need the password to decrypt, unzip and extract.

If you add DRM to any of your video's, most hackers can find a decrypt program for free on the web (hackers being college age students with time on their hands)

If you really want DRM on your video's, this free utility lets you place a license key on your web server. With the URL and key the video is useless:

Hi Greg. Thanks for getting back to me. We have a behavioral assessment video system that is used by public service agencies. We have developed 25 videos. Each agency picks 3-8 of these videos and purchases licensing fees. What we wanted to do was load all 25 videos on a memory stick and then through a password only allow them access to the ones they purchased. They need to be encrypted so they cannot copy it off the memory stick and must plug in the stick to gain access to the videos each time its used so we can track usage. I was looking at credant technologies. What you have recommended is a little different, I think?

Would you be open to discussing this with me? 415.272.8722
