‘Cinco de Maris’ to benefit Sebastiani Theatre

The Rank family has long loved the Sebastiani Theatre and the variety of community events and programs created by proprietors Roger and Diana Rhoten.

As matriarch Mary Sue “Maris” Ulven-Rank began making plans for her 60th birthday, she could think of no better celebration than a raucous afternoon of music and magic in support of the historic theatre.

Cinco de Maris takes place on Saturday, May 5, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., with all proceeds earmarked for Roger and Diana Rhoten to continue their mission to provide live entertainment and creative opportunities for all ages while preserving a historic Sonoma treasure.

During the event, Zoe Rank reprises her role as Trixie, the Sebastiani Theatre’s ticket-taking mannequin before she heads inside to perform. Spencer Rank will join his sister on stage along with other local notables performers including Roger “the Magic Man” Rhoten, Jeff “The Last Crooner” Gilbert, Cliff Hugo, Tommy Thomsen, Dave Aguilar, Mario Allioto Jr., Sarah Summers, Mark Dennis, Cynthia Tarr, the Hot Flashes and the entire Rank family.

Wine and beer will be sold by the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation, whose mission is to preserve and enhance the historic theatre.

Tickets cost $12 general admission, $6 for seniors and students, and are available at Tiddle E. Winks, Readers’ Books and the theatre’s box office.

The Sebastiani Theatre is located at 476 First St. E.
